Fitting the back support
BackShape comes with a woven polypropylene strap, adjustable with a buckle. The weave and its dark grey colour means that it fits in with most environments. It is unbreakable in normal use.
The strap attaches either horizontally, to suit office chairs, or vertically, to suit vehicle seats. It uses hook-and-loop fastener so you simply peel off protective strips and press on the strap, to suit your application.
If you wish, you can peel off all the protective strips and let the hook strips on the back of the cover cling to the seat fabric. On many fabric seats this grips so well that you do not need to use the straps.
The flexibility of the system allows it to be fitted securely to most seats.
Because the hook-and-loop method provides a support strip right across the back of the cover, it feeds the loads into the fabric in a structural way. It does not distort the cover, and the strap can never pull out of the seams.
This system allows us to use a soft, flexible cover fabric for more comfort.
The strap is supplied long enough for the tallest car seats. If you have excess on your particular seat you can simply cut it to length with scissors, and seal the end with a brief exposure to flame (we suggest you do this over a sink, and move the end towards the flame until it just starts to melt).
