When you are sitting down with your feet on a
stable surface, there should be only moderate pressure under
the front of your thighs. If your seat is too high or too low
you will experience uneven pressure under the thighs and this
can restrict blood flow and pinch nerves. This can lead to pins
and needles or swelling in the feet and ankles. |

- If, with your elbows at a good height for using
the keyboard, you can feel pressure under the front
of the thighs, get a footrest.
Experiment with a box or phone directory to find the
best height for a footrest. Most footrests tilt so
that they suit a number of heights.
- If you put your feet firmly on the floor with your
knees at about right angles, and your knees hit the
underside of the desk, get your desk raised.
