Our charity

Every company should have a charity. We support an animal charity, and one of the animals that most needs a helping hand is the Greyhound. This page is for them.

Used for racing, Greyhounds are kept in a cage 23+ hours a day in between races, then when they are four or so and slowing down most are just dumped, put to sleep or killed with a hammer or bolt gun, even though they are sensitive, loving dogs who make wonderful pets.

Because these days most photographs of them are taken during races, it's sometimes forgotten that they are a pet breed just like Labradors and Retrievers - track racing only started in the 1920's.

The Ergonomic Dog!

And of course we support them because a pet Greyhound is the most ergonomic dog :-

  • Greyhounds don't need a lot of exercise, just normal doggy walks (which are good for their owners too..).
  • Since they are tall, you don't need to bend down to stroke them!
  • They're nearly all good on the lead and don't stress your back by pulling.
  • They are not very heavy, about 30 kilos, and you don't have to bend all the way down to the floor to lift them. If you need to lift them (and if you lift them correctly) they won't hurt your back.
  • They are warm and silky to the touch, and they love being stroked - stroking them reduces your heartrate!
  • Their short coats are less allergenic than other dogs.
  • Their gentle good nature means people find having a pet Greyhound is good for their well-being.

There are always lots of Greyhounds needing a home, and dozens of rehoming organisations who will be delighted to let you meet some. To find out more, visit
