Changing Export Files

When you click an Export button, the data displayed in the dialog are exported to the current Export file or to the Clipboard. (Settings under the Export/ View tab determine the destination and format of the data).

By default the active file is 'PeopleSize exported data.rtf' or ~.txt or ~.csv.

The .RTF format is the Microsoft Rich Text Format, a word processor file type which can be opened by nearly all modern word processors. It can contain both text and graphics.

The .TXT format is a basic text file which cannot contain graphics, but it can be laid out either as a table or as one or more single rows of data. Nearly all applications can open this type of file. Single rows of data are helpful in spreadsheet programs, where you might be making adjustments or calculations to develop design specifications from the human dimension data.

The .CSV format is 'Comma Separated Values', this format is opened by spreadsheet programs like Excel.

You can name and use other files by using the File, Change Export File command. This is helpful for project work and on shared computers. Note that you cannot change the file type in the File Save As dialog.

The selected file becomes the active file until you either exit or change to another.
